Riverside Council was consecrated at Mark Masons Hall, then at 40 Upper Brook Street, London W1 on Tuesday 29th July 1969, by Dr. Arthur S. Hollins OBE the Most Illustrious Grand Master, who was well known as a Middlesex Mason being a Past Provincial Grand Master in the Craft.
The council was originally consecrated as a unit in the Division of Surrey and Middlesex and was the first Council in the County of Middlesex not controlled by London, in response to the need for a unit for Royal and Select Masters within the county.
It is interesting to note that Companion R.K. Hind was present as a guest at the third meeting and as a member soon after and Companion Alfred Mark was shown as a member from the second meeting. Both the Companions were destined to become District Grand Master with Colonel Keith Hind also being honoured as Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Order.
The council meets twice a year at The Twickenham District Masonic Centre, Twickenham. The meetings are on Saturday mornings following a breakfast, on the third Saturday in April and the third Saturday in September. For further information please contact the recorder John Redpath at:-
